Privacy policy
In short: no ads and no tracking across sites. Visits are counted anonymously. Questions you type to the advisor are processed and kept by the Nodely AI service. Your settings stay in your own browser. If you choose to sign in with an Algorand wallet (“Save my journey”), we keep your public account address and what you saved, and your progress, badges and any DUCAT / CRED rewards are written to the public blockchain. Signing in is optional.
Who we are
Kingdom of Algo (explore.algo.green) draws the public Algorand blockchain as a medieval realm, with a space theme called Algo Colony. It is run by Urtho NS, Paweł Pierścionek, Żwanowiecka 53, 04-849 Warsaw, Poland, the data controller for this site. Questions about this policy or your data: ppierscionek@gmail.com.
Nodely provides the analytics and AI services named below.
What the realm shows
Everything in the world (castles, roads, carts, ships, the herald's news) comes from public Algorand mainnet data: transactions, accounts and applications that anyone can read on the chain. We don't connect it to visitors.
Visitor statistics
We count visits with Plausible Analytics, hosted
by Nodely at plausible.nodely.io. Plausible uses no cookies and stores no IP addresses. Instead it counts
a visitor with a hash that changes every day, so a visitor can't be followed from one day to the next. We see totals:
pages, referring sites, countries, browser and device types. We also count a few in-app actions, without anything that
identifies you:
- opening the video gallery, and which video is played;
- whether the theme hint was shown, used or dismissed, and which theme was picked on the loading screen.
- Save my journey, mining and the Path: opening them and how a step went (the theme, a step's name and its result), never your account address.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Browser blockers that block Plausible don't break anything.
The advisor chat
Urtho, the King's Advisor (the Colony Intelligence in the space theme), answers questions about the day on screen. When you ask a question:
- Your browser sends our server your question, the last few turns of the conversation, and what you are looking at (theme, date, hour, and the castle if one is open).
- Our server forwards this to the Nodely AI service, which generates the answer and keeps a record of the conversation (its feedback database and traces), to improve and debug the service. Your IP address is not passed on. Instead our server sends a pseudonym derived from it with a secret key, which changes every day.
- Our server keeps no text of the conversation by default. Only when we switch on a debugging log for a short while are questions and answers written to it, with the daily pseudonym, and that log is deleted after 14 days.
- To limit abuse, our server keeps per-address request counters in memory for at most one day. They are never written to disk.
- The conversation is kept in your browser's session storage, so it survives a reload. It is gone when you close the tab.
Please don't type personal information into the chat. Legal basis: providing the feature you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Save my journey (optional wallet sign-in)
You can sign in with an Algorand wallet (Pera or Lute) to keep your progress. You sign a message, never a transaction; we never see or ask for your keys.
- Our server keeps, next to your public account address: your sign-in sessions (one cookie per device, below), your progress record, the badges delivered, the quests done if the Path is on, and, if you use them, your mining shares and balances and your badge rewards (which badge, which coin, its worth, when). No IP address and no browser details are stored with them; our logs use a keyed tag instead of your address.
- On the public Algorand blockchain (anyone can read it, and it cannot be deleted): your progress record (a token in your account whose note lists the items found and your synced settings, including the theme), the badges sent to your account's inbox, and any DUCAT or CRED sent to it, with the time of each.
- Legal basis: providing the feature you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b)). “Forget this device” signs this browser out and removes it here; write to us to have the server's copy deleted. What is on the chain stays there.
DUCAT and CRED rewards
Mining in the realm and earning badges can pay small amounts of the DUCAT (medieval) and CRED (space) tokens to your account, from our public rewards account. DUCAT and CRED are memecoins, made for fun. They have no intrinsic value and come with no promise of profit, income or return. They are not an investment, a security, a share, or a claim on anything, and their price can fall to zero. Rewards are capped, may wait, and may be paused or stopped at any time.
Server logs
Our application logs each request's method, path, status and duration. It logs no IP addresses, no browser details and no query strings. Our hosting infrastructure (the reverse proxy and container runtime in front of the application) may briefly hold standard technical data such as IP addresses and requested paths. That data is used only to run and secure the service, and is not used to identify visitors.
Stored in your browser
No cookies unless you sign in to Save my journey: then one cookie, koa_wallet (your signed-in session,
sent only to our wallet API, kept up to 30 days or until you sign out). Apart from what you choose to save, the site's
other items stay in your own browser. They never leave it, and clearing the site's data
removes them:
| Item | What it holds | Where |
|---|---|---|
koa.theme | the theme you chose (medieval or space) | local storage |
koa.settings | your settings: lighting, logos, layers, preferred explorer, sound volumes | local storage |
koa.themeHint | that the theme hint was already shown | local storage |
koa.watched | which films you have watched in the gallery (shown as a “Watched” ribbon); never sent anywhere | local storage |
koa.chat.<theme> | the advisor conversation in this tab | session storage |
koa.resume, koa.upgrade, koa.chunkReload | your view and an unsent chat draft across an update reload, and reload-loop guards | session storage |
koa.wallet, koa.progress, koa.walletToast, koa.mined | Save my journey: the signed-in account's address and what waits to be saved, the items found, the rewards-waiting notice, that you have mined | local storage |
Content loaded from other companies
To show the site, your browser connects directly to these services. Like any web request, this gives them your IP address and browser details:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com): the themes' typefaces, on every visit. Google Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: the films in the video gallery and their preview pictures, when the gallery or a castle's videos are shown. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Nodely (plausible.nodely.io): the visitor statistics above.
Links to block explorers and project websites open those sites in a new tab, and only when you click one. Their own privacy policies apply there.
Our YouTube channels
We publish our films on YouTube on the Kingdom of Algo and Algo Colony channels. We upload them with our own tool, which uses the YouTube API Services only to manage our own two channels: it uploads videos, captions and thumbnails, sets publish times and adds videos to playlists. It doesn't access, collect or store any data about viewers or other YouTube users. It keeps only our own video IDs and an access token for our own channels, on our own machine. Watching our videos on YouTube is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Our access to our channels can be revoked at any time from Google's security settings page.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no selling or sharing of data for marketing.
- No payments from you and no access to your keys: a wallet signs a message to sign in, never a transaction.
- No profiling and no automated decisions about you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to it and to data portability. You can also complain to a supervisory authority (in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO, uodo.gov.pl). Since we hold almost no personal data and nothing tied to a name, please tell us which date and roughly what time you used the chat if your request concerns a conversation. Write to ppierscionek@gmail.com.
The site is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
When what the site collects changes, we update this page and its date above.
