Chapter 11
FeatureA big chapter for the realm: a puppet theatre with twenty short plays, an Explorer's atlas that fills as you explore, royal commissions that ask a question about each day, and a herald's tour of the day. Rare sights now appear over the realm for your Bestiary, and there are small things for the curious to stumble on.
New
The puppet theatre
The travelling players have set up their wagon: twenty short plays about village life, with Sir Bertram, Wat, Master Quill and the cat. Open it from Scenic views, pick a play and take a bench. The rest of the realm quiets down while a show is on.
The Explorer's atlas
A discovery journal that fills as you explore: places, the workings of the realm and the happenings you look into, each with a short explanation and a Return to scene button that takes you back. Open it with J or its chip. It is kept in this browser.
Royal commissions
Daily investigations: a small question about the day, answered from what you can see. The day's own records are the judge.
Take me through this day
A herald's tour of the day in four or five stops, about a minute and a half: the busiest castle, the treasury's coin in and out, who sealed the blocks and more, each with a short card. Pause at any stop to look around, step back and forth, or leave with Esc. Start it from Scenic views.
While you were away
Come back after a new day is chronicled and a card beside the news tells you what changed since your last visit: castles that rose or fell to ruin, the treasury, new apps, busier quays. Show me flies you to each change.
The oracle's riddle
A plainly labelled historical exercise by the replay clock: say what an hour of a past day will bring, then watch the chronicle play it out. The answer is the day's own record; the riddle is only a reason to watch the hour closely.
Rare sights and the Bestiary
Rare sights now appear over the realm. Spot them to fill your Bestiary: a quiet cue tells you something stirs, and a click takes you there. Open the Bestiary from its chip in the top bar. The realm also takes on a few seasonal touches.
Small wonders
More small things to stumble on, for the curious. They are decoration only and never stand for chain data, and none of them makes the sounds the realm uses for its real events. A small secret has been tucked away somewhere in the realm.
Seals waiting to be saved
When you have earned a seal that has not been saved with your journey yet, a small note says so and offers to save it now. Hide it, and it comes back only when something changes.
Changes
A lighter realm in VR
On a Quest 3 the realm now draws with much less work a frame and lighter shadows: on a busy day it runs at 85 to 86 frames a second, up from 76 to 80.
