Update 1

Feature

The first editions of Algo Colony: each day of the Algorand chain becomes an asteroid colony of stations, with Mission Control's bulletin, the colony's consensus at its core and a live feed of the cycle in progress. Query the Colony AI about the day, and open the Colony Field Guide to learn what everything means.

New

Algo Colony

Everyone

Every day of the Algorand chain is an asteroid colony: each station is a project, built for what it does and sized by its calls, while cargo pods and courier craft run the rails. Play the cycle around the clock, read Mission Control's Colony Bulletin and the Colony Telemetry, and click any station for its dossier.

Any day, and its derelicts

Everyone

Pick any day from the date picker or the mission log strip and the colony is drawn as it stood in that era, each station keeping its place on the map. Stations whose contracts were deleted remain as derelict hulls, and quiet ones run on standby power.

A breached derelict station with torn hull panels, its tag giving the day it went derelict.

Colony Consensus

Everyone

The colony's core shows how the chain agrees: a ledger spire with a ring per day, a relay grid for each hour's committee, beacons for the busiest block proposers and a lattice force field for the Falcon state proofs that seal history. Most accounts still sign with Ed25519. Click any of them, or press K, for the day's numbers.

The cycle in progress, and Watch live

Everyone

The cycle still in progress is in the mission log too, refreshed as it goes. Press Watch live on its ribbon to follow the chain block by block: each new block pulses through the colony's core with a soft chime. Back to replay returns you to the cycle so far.

Colony AI

Everyone

The Colony Intelligence reads the telemetry of the cycle shown and answers your queries about it, with links that plot a course to the stations it names. Open a channel with the Colony AI button, the T key or a click on its core at the colony's heart. It is an AI and may err.

The Paywall Relay

Everyone

A new landmark shows the day's x402 machine payments on chain: courier drones carry them to the merchant kiosks. Click the Paywall Relay or its line in the Colony Telemetry to see payments, USDC paid and the busiest merchants.

Colony Field Guide

Everyone

Press ? or the Guide button for a guide to every station, craft and signal in the colony and what it stands for on the chain, with today's counts and a Show on map button that points each one out.

Reserve and proposer stipends apart

Everyone

The Colony Telemetry tells the Algorand Foundation's own spending apart from the block rewards the protocol pays to proposers, shown as proposer stipends next to the energy tithe. Stipend beams run from the Reserve's tower to the proposer beacons as the rewards are paid.

Sounds of the colony

Everyone

Turn on sound with the speaker button or M: machine chatter and the rumble of traffic that follows the cycle's activity, with chimes, horns and zaps for what happens. Recorded sounds and optional music by day and night; credits are in the Colony Field Guide.

Getting around

Everyone

A ranked station roster (L), C to visit stations one by one, arrow keys to step from cycle to cycle and a telemetry card while a new day is received. The top bar folds into a menu on phones, and the bulletin has its own close.

A telemetry card with a radar sweep while the colony receives another day's data.
